Divers hoping to raise wreck of Rising Sun today

Divers are hoping to raise the wreck of the Rising Sun from the sea bed off the coast of Co Wexford today.

The lobster boat sank near the Saltee Islands last November, claiming the lives of skipper Pat Colfer and his colleague Jimmy Meyler.

Mr Meyler's body was recovered, but Mr Colfer's remains are still missing and his family hope they may be trapped inside the wreck of his boat.

Once the vessel is raised today, it will be taken to Rosslare for examination by marine experts, who will try to determine why the emergency locator failed to activate when the boat sank and why the life-raft failed to deploy.
