Burglar pours cleaning fluid over one-year-old baby

Police in the North are investigating a burglary in Co Fermanagh during which the thief poured cleaning fluid over a one-year-old baby boy.

The incident took place on Tuesday, when a man claiming to be from the electricity board called to the home of Mary Dolan in Kinawley.

Once inside, the man demanded money and poured cleaning fluid over Ms Dolan's son Ruairi before ransacking the house and taking £30 (€44) of the child's birthday money.

Ms Dolan said the thief had threatened to force her baby to drink the cleaning fluid if she did not give him all the money in the house.
