Late surge sees house prices rise by €25,000 in 2005

The average price of a house in Ireland has increased by €25,000 over the past year, according to figures published today by permanent tsb.

The financial institution said prices increased by 9.3% in 2005, bringing the average cost of a house to just under €280,000.
