Police in New York are investigating the murder of a 43-year-old Irishman who has been living in the city for the past 16 years.

Police in New York are investigating the murder of a 43-year-old Irishman who has been living in the city for the past 16 years.

John Kelly Jnr, a native of Sixmilebridge in Co Clare, was shot in the head outside his apartment building on Bruckner Boulevard in the Bronx on Sunday night.

Mr Kelly worked as a superintendent at the apartment block.

The police have yet to establish a motive for his murder.
