Around 2,500 jobs could be on the way for Dublin as a result of plans to build a new ‘technology campus’ in the Clondalkin area of the city.

Details have yet to be confirmed, but local Fianna Fáil TD John Curran has already issued a statement welcoming the move.

He said a manufacturing and research facility was being planned for a 150-acre site at Grange Castle, alongside the existing Wyeth plant and Takada facility.

The Tánaiste and Minister for Health Mary Harney has also confirmed that the IDA-backed move is being actively pursued, with a planning application expected to be lodged this afternoon.
