More than 20 Irish hospitals have reportedly had their budgets for 2006 slashed by almost €10m as punishment for inefficiencies in 2004.

Reports this morning said Mayo General Hospital, Our Lady's Hospital in Navan and Limerick Regional Hospital all had their budgets cut by more than €1m each following the latest evaluations of their performances.
