Limerick flat fire 'accidental'

A fatal fire in Limerick this morning - which claimed one life - is thought to have been started accidentally.

Gardaí are still waiting for forensic tests to confirm the cause of the blaze in Lyradane Avenue in the Woodview Park area of the city.

The alarm was raised by a resident of the house when he returned home at about 3am today.

The victim was in his late 20s and is believed to have been Polish.
