Man killed by flying debris during Cork crash
A man in his 50s has died after he was struck by flying debris following a collision between a car and a lorry in Co Cork last night.
Gardaí said the two vehicles collided on a bridge in Ballygriffin, on the main road between Mallow and Mitchelstown, shortly after 8pm.
Debris from the bridge fell about 10 metres onto a pedestrian who was walking below, leaving him with multiple injuries.
The man was later pronounced dead at the scene despite efforts by paramedics to save his life.
The drivers of both the lorry and the car were hospitalised with minor injuries.
