Families of Stardust victims send new evidence to McDowell
The Department of Justice has said it will "carefully examine" any new evidence on the Stardust disaster.
Next month marks the 25th anniversary of the tragedy, when 48 people died in the St Valentine's disco.
A solicitor representing victims' families claims they have new information which casts doubt on the findings of a 1982 tribunal of inquiry into the fire.
The Government says a report they forwarded to the Garda Commissioner and the Forensic Science Laboratory on the fire over 12 months was found to contain no new evidence.
However, the Stardust Legal Challenge Committee say they hope to forward a fresh dossier to the Department within four to six weeks.
