The Northern Secretary Peter Hain has accused the British Conservative Party of abandoning a cross-party approach to the peace process.

The Northern Secretary Peter Hain has accused the British Conservative Party of abandoning a cross-party approach to the peace process.

He called on David Cameron to restore co-operation, after the Tories opposed what he called essential building blocks, like the amnesty for fugitive IRA prisoners.

The party argued the plans were never part of the Good Friday Agreement.
