Post mortem due on victim of Cork house fire

A post mortem is to take place later today on the body of a man who was killed in a fire in Cork city yesterday.

The victim has been named locally as 28-year-old Terence Porter.

The fire services were called to the house at Kerry Road in Mayfield shortly after 6am yesterday.

A neighbour suffered injuries from broken glass trying to save the victim, who was trapped in the sitting room of the house.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
