Largest ever health survey launched
The largest-every national survey of patients will be launched today by Health Minister Mary Harney.
The report by non-profit group, Irish Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare (ISQSH) polled the experiences of 4,820 people in 26 hospitals.
’The Patient’s View’ document will identify areas of care and service that function well or need improvement.
A ISQSH spokesman said: “The findings will illustrate the challenges that face healthcare service providers in building a culture that puts patients first and values their input, feedback and participation.”
The ISQSH said key areas for improvement include communication, cleanliness, privacy, patient safety and patient rights.
Ms Harney is to launch the survey in Dublin this afternoon.
