Care package for elderly and ill at Budget's heart

A €150m package of measures will be put in place next year to support the care of elderly or ill people in their own homes and communities.

Minister for Finance Brian Cowen announced a multi-million euro investment including new home care packages, home help, more day care support and additional palliative care for the terminally ill.
