Interim order restricts Laide coverage

An interim order to restrict media coverage concerning Dermot Laide in the run up to his manslaughter trial next April 24 has been made by Judge Frank O’Donnell and Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

An interim order to restrict media coverage concerning Dermot Laide in the run up to his manslaughter trial next April 24 has been made by Judge Frank O’Donnell and Dublin Circuit Criminal Court.

An application to restrict the media was earlier made by Mr Brendan Grehan SC on behalf of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Hearing of the application will continue on December 20, 2005.

Mr Laide (aged 23), from Rossvale, Castleblayney, Co Monaghan, has pleaded not guilty to unlawful killing of teenager Brian Murphy outside Dublin's Burlington hotel on August 31, 2000.
