MA 20-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Co Clare.

MA 20-year-old man has been killed in a road accident in Co Clare.

It happened just before 4.30am at Cappantruhaun, Whitegate in the county.

The man was killed when the car he was driving went out of control.

A 19-year-old male passenger was taken to Ennis General Hospital, where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
