Woman savagely assaulted in Derry

A woman has been injured after being slashed with a broken bottle in Derry.

The victim, in her early 20s, was walking down Carlisle Road when she was set upon by two other women.

She was punched in the face and suffered slash wounds to her chin and arm.

One woman was arrested by police shortly afterwards.
