The Irish Ferries saga took another twist this afternoon, as the company deployed security staff onto one of its vessels.

They reportedly escorted Latvian crew members aboard the Isle of Inishmore in Pembroke to relieve Irish workers opting for redundancy.

The ship's officers, who are members of SIPTU, have refused to sail the vessel to Rosslare until the security is withdrawn.
