The controversy over Irish Ferries will not determine whether the country’s largest union SIPTU participates in talks towards a new social partnership agreement, it was confirmed today.

SIPTU’s Jack O’Connor said the union would only be entering talks if they were assured negotiations could address the issue of workers’ displacement, exploitation and the protection of employment standards.
