A study commissioned by the Mid-East Regional Authority has reportedly found that the area receives less Government funding per head of population than anywhere else in Ireland.

Reports this morning said the study had found that counties Kildare, Meath and Wicklow were receiving less than 70% of the national average when it came to spending in several key areas, like health and education.
