Man seriously assaulted in attack in Co Kilkenny

A man is in a serious condition in hospital following an attack in Co Kilkenny early this morning.

The incident happened on Main Street in Urlingford shortly after 1 am.

The victim was assaulted by at least one other man and was taken to St. Lukes Hospital in Kilkenny.

He has now been transferred to Beaumont Hospital in Dublin.
