ICTU urged to intervene in postal dispute
As major disruption to our postal service looms, An Post is calling on the General Secretary of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions to intervene in the dispute with the Communication Workers Union.
It follows the breakdown of talks at the company earlier today.
Serious disruption is expected if the CWU's industrial action goes ahead tomorrow at midnight.
It's not known yet what services and locations will be hit by the strike.
An Post is putting in place all possible contingency plans to minimise the level of disprution.
Chairman of the CWU's Postal executive John Tansey says over the next 24 hours, the union will consider what form the action will take.
