Nursing homes inspector ‘must be independent of HSE’

The Irish Nursing Homes Organisation has called on the Government to ensure that the promised social services inspectorate will be independent of the HSE.

The organisation, which is holding its annual conference in Dublin today, also wants the new body to apply the same standards to both public and private homes.
