Irish soldier's family welcomes news of inquiry
The family of Kevin Barrett has welcomed the news that there is to be an inquiry into how they were treated after his death.
The 21-year-old army private died in the Lebanon six years ago - last month an inquest returned an open verdict.
Solicitor Kyran McGinley said this afternoon that the family still wants to know exactly what happened, but praised the swift action of Minister for Defence Willie O'Dea, which follows a recent meeting with Kevin's mother.
