Loyalists expected to declare 'love' for Ulster

Thousands of loyalists are expected to take part in a major rally in Belfast this afternoon.

Organisers of the "Love Ulster" rally have pledged it will not descend into violence.

As many as 30,000 people are expected to turn up to a park in the Woodvale area of north of Belfast to hear Orange leaders demand the British government respect unionist rights.

The Orange Order County Grand Marshal for Belfast Dawson Bailey, who is one of a number of speakers, will also demand an end to nationalist and republican concessions.

A strong police presence is likely as the event, which is taking place quite close to the nationalist Ardoyne.
