The Irish Medical Organisation has asked the Government to focus on elderly care, the A&E crisis, and bed shortages when allocating funding in the upcoming budget.

The group, which represents doctors in Ireland, has published a number of specific recommendations, including an increase in the number of public nursing-home beds for the elderly and an emphasis on home-based care packages for them.
