Liam Lawlor’s body is returned home

Liam Lawlor's body has arrived back in Ireland and will be buried tomorrow in Esker Cemetery in Lucan after midday.

The former TD was killed in the early hours of last Saturday morning in a car crash near Moscow.

His driver also died.

It has been reported that the Ukrainian woman who survived the car crash will seek an apology from a number of newspapers.

Today’s Irish Times says Julia Kushnir is expected to make a statement through a legal firm here later today.

The woman, who works as an interpreter and legal assistant, was a back-seat passenger when Mr Lawlor’s car crashed.
