Gardaí tonight appealed for witnesses to a fatal hit-and-run in which a teenage girl was killed.

The crash occurred at the junction of Dunawley Estate and Fonthill Road in the Clondalkin area of west Dublin over a week ago.

Marsia Lieghio, of Kilcronan Grove, was struck by a green Fiat Brava with northern registration YIB-5643 at around 8.30pm on Sunday, October 16.

Gardaí said the car was spotted driving away towards the N4 after the incident and was spottedin Dundalk the following day.

Detectives found the car burnt out in Blackrock, Dundalk, at around 8pm on Tuesday October 18.

Gardaí at Clondalkin have appealed for anyone with information on the car, its occupants or driver, or who may have information about its movements before or after the crash to contact officers on 01 6667600.
