€1.46m in assets frozen after Derry searches
Police in Derry today froze assets worth almost £1m (€1.46m) during a police operation against organised crime.
The assets include 12 houses, a taxi firm, a mobile shop, three bank accounts, £17,000 (€24,879) in cash, and two vehicles.
The seizures came after a restraining order was served on two people.
About 80,000 contraband and counterfeit cigarettes were also recovered.
Houses and other premises were searched in the joint Police and Customs search operation in the Gobnascale area of Derry today.
There were no arrests but police inquiries into the matter are continuing.
