Fugitives 'will not be granted amnesty'
There will be no amnesty for paramilitary fugitives from justice in Northern Ireland in legislation allowing them to return to the North, British MPs were told today.
Northern Secretary Peter Hain, reflecting on recent developments in the peace process, told opposition MPs that there would be a judicial element to the legislation allowing so-called “on-the-runs” to return.
