Police in Derry have seized drugs worth £400,000 (€580,000) during weekend raids in the city.

Cocaine with a street value of around £250,000 (€363,000) was initially discovered during a planned police operation on Friday, sparked by the arrest of a man in the city centre.

Two houses were raided in that operation.

More drugs were recovered yesterday during searches and a substantial sum of money was also seized.

Two men, both in their 20s, have been charged in connection with the seizures, and will appear in court on Monday.
