Irish study finds SUVs pose greater risk to pedestrians

Controversial sports utility vehicles (SUVs) pose an increased danger to pedestrians, according to research conducted at Trinity College in Dublin.

The study found that a pedestrian was between two and four times more likely to be killed or seriously injured if struck by an SUV rather than by a normal car.
