Taxpayers foot 'unnecessary' €600 taxi bill

The National Treatment Purchase Fund has been accused of wasting €600 of Irish taxpayers' money on sending a patient from Dublin to Limerick via taxi.

Reports this morning said the female patient was due to undergo a minor eye operation in Limerick that did not require her to get a taxi.
