North: Man serious after stabbing attack

A man was seriously ill in hospital today after being stabbed at his home in a Northern Ireland seaside resort.

A man was seriously ill in hospital today after being stabbed at his home in a seaside resort in the North.

Police are treating the attack as attempted murder. It happened at around 10pm yesterday in Eglinton Street in Portrush, Co Antrim.

The victim was attacked with a sharp instrument as he answered his door. He was wounded in the neck and face.

Detectives in Coleraine have appealed for anyone in the area who may have witnessed anything suspicious to help their investigation.
