Minister Roche calls for end to littering at recycling centres

The Minister for the Environment, Dick Roche, has called on local authorities and recycling companies to address the problem of over-flowing bring banks.

A new Repak survey has highlighted how one-in-three people litter bring centres with their recycling waste.

Mr Roche said this was unacceptable but that full-to-the-brim recycling banks only encourage people to behave like this.

The minister pledged to provide funding to local authorities to improve the situation but also said that people have to stop this littering.
