Astronomy buffs prepare for partial solar eclipse

Irish astronomy buffs are preparing for an extremely rare event later this morning, with a partial eclipse of the sun forecast for between 9am and 11am.

Up to 70% of the sun's surface is set to be covered by the moon in what Astronomy Ireland has promised will be a "spectacular" show.
