Limerick gets its first Gaelcholaiste

Students in Limerick will soon be able to do their Junior and Leaving Certificate through Irish.

The county’s first every all-Irish secondary school is due to open in September 2006.

Gaelcholaiste Luimnigh's will be accepting students who’ve attended Gaelscoileanna and those who have completed their primary education through English.

The development has been welcomed by the Education Minister, Mary Hanafin, who says it is an important step towards reviving our native language.
