Ryanair slams increased Dublin Airport landing charges
Ryanair has reacted angrily to the aviation regulator's decision to increase landing charges at Dublin Airport.
The Dublin Airport Authority had requested a 50% increase from €5 to €7.50 per passenger to help fund the development of a second terminal
However, the regulator sanctioned a rise of just over 20%.
Responding to the change today, Ryanair chief executive Michael O'Leary claimed the increase was totally unjustified as the DAA was already mismanaging the existing terminal at Dublin Airport.
Mr O'Leary also accused Transport Minister Martin Cullen of breaking a series of promises he made in relation to the second terminal, including a commitment that the "costings" of the building would be independently verified.
