The blaze broke out yesterday evening at Murphy-Flood's Hotel on the town's Main Street and spread to neighbouring buildings.

Nobody was injured as the hotel had been evacuated shortly after the fire was first noticed.

The cause of the blaze is now under investigation.

Meanwhile, another fire also caused major damage to a disused factory on the corner of Boucher Road and Apollo Road in south Belfast last night.

More than 100 firefighters spent several hours tackling the blaze, which forced the closure of part of Boucher Road while it was brought under control.
