Groups opposed to the use of nuclear power have called on the Irish Government to continue championing the non-nuclear case worldwide.

Groups opposed to the use of nuclear power have called on the Irish Government to continue championing the non-nuclear case worldwide.

In a joint press conference today, the environmental group Grian and the operators of the anti-nuclear website no2nukes.com said nuclear power was being touted as a possible solution to climate change caused by the burning of fossil fuels.

However, the two groups said it is not a viable solution as it was too expensive and posed too much of a terrorist risk.
