Ahern to announce target date for Ireland’s aid promises

The Taoiseach Bertie Ahern is due to announce a new target date for meeting Ireland's promises on overseas aid later today.

Mr Ahern is due to make the announcement during an address to a UN summit of world leaders in New York tonight.
