Calls for Sinn Féin to be banned from Government involvement.

The opposition has called on all political parties to make a public pledge that would see Sinn Féin excluded from future Governments.

Senator Brian Hayes of Fine Gael put forward the suggestion and wants the ban to come into effect after the next election.

He said the Sinn Féin party must not be allowed into government until such time as the IRA is totally disbanded.
