New register details waiting times for surgical procedures

The Department of Health has set up a new Internet register that will allow the public to know the current waiting time for common surgical procedures.

The Patient Treatment Register will initially detail the waiting times at most of Dublin's main hospitals and St John's Hospital in Limerick.
