Murder inquiry in Mullingar after pensioner's death

A murder inquiry is underway in Mullingar, Co Westmeath, following the discovery of a man's body in the town yesterday.

Eighty-two year old Mick Creighton was found dead at his apartment on Castle Street in Mullingar at around 5pm yesterday evening.

A post mortem carried out by the State Pathologist Dr Marie Cassidy has revealed that he sustained extensive wounds to his body.
