Police in the North are investigating an arson attack that caused severe damage to an integrated primary school in Co Derry.

The assembly hall at the Roe Valley school in Limavady was extensively damaged and, although the two classrooms were not hit, the 44 pupils are beginning the new term elsewhere.

One class has been temporarily rehoused at a nearby hotel and the second at another school in Derry.

The motive for the attack is unclear.
