Body of missing fisherman found off Wexford coast

Gardaí confirmed this afternoon that the body found off the Wexford coast was that of missing fisherman Ronald O'Connor. He hadn't been seen since Sunday, August 21.

Mr O’Conner, who was in his early 40s and from Duncormick, went fishing near Kilmore Quay ten days ago.

An alarm was raised when he failed to come home and his empty boat was discovered by local search teams the following morning.

A body was found at 7.30am today and gardaí have since confirmed that it was that of Mr O'Connor.

His remains were bought to Waterford Regional Hospital where a post-mortem will be carried out.
