Smaller towns best for inspiring athletes - study
A child born in Galway in January has a better chance of becoming a top sportsman or woman than someone born in Dublin later in the year, it emerged today.
Jean Cote of Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada has conducted research in the US, Canada and Australia which found children born in cities with more than 1 million people had a much lower chance of making it to the top than cities with populations below 500,000.
