Two held over murder bid on taxi-driver

Two men have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a taxi driver in Co Down.

The victim was taken to hospital after he was shot in Sterling Avenue, Newtownards, in the early hours of Saturday.

A police spokeswoman confirmed the men, aged 19 and 20, will appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court tomorrow.
