Fears for 200 jobs at Dublin Airport in Gate dispute

There are fears for up to 200 jobs at Dublin Airport today following an announcement by the catering firm Gate Gourmet that it may go into administration.

The US-owned company is currently engaged in an industrial relations dispute in Britain. The dispute led to the grounding of all British Airways flights at Heathrow Airport in London two weeks ago.

Gate Gourmet claimed today there was no point in it continuing to trade if the dispute was not resolved and a new contract was not agreed with BA.

The company provides catering services to several airlines operating at Dublin Airport and employs around 200 people at the Irish facility.
