Sixteen people, including a child, had to be rescued from a burning block of flats in Dublin today after fire broke out in the building.

The 16, all foreign nationals, were rescued by firemen from a third-storey window when the blaze engulfed the downstairs lobby of the building on Ormond Quay, near Capel Street Bridge, at about 2pm.
