Two face charges after €500,000 heroin find
Two non-nationals have been charged at a special court sitting following a major seizure of heroin in Limerick.
Two and a half kilos of the drug, with an estimated street value of €500,000, was seized during a planned garda operation in the O’Connell Avenue area of the city last Thursday night.
Appearing before a special sitting of Limerick District Court on Saturday were; Mohammad Kargbo, aged 33, from Sierra Leone with an address at Ann Street, Limerick, and Emmanuel Ashibogwu, aged 25, from Nigeria with an address at Clyde House in Limerick.
Both were charged with possession of the drugs for sale or supply at Hartstonge Street, Limerick, on August 18 last.
Solicitor for both men, John Cooke, reserved his position on bail and Judge Leo Malone remanded both accused in custody to appear again before Limerick District Court next Wednesday, August 24.
A Limerick man who was also arrested as part of the same operation was released without charge at the weekend and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
